Coordinated Police Work Results in 2 Arrests and Recovery of Stolen SUV

Coordinated police work led to Wednesday's arrest of two teens, both 16, and the recovery of a stolen 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander.

Violent Crimes detectives observed the teens get into the SUV which was parked in the Cumberland View Apartments. The vehicle had been stolen Tuesday night. When the victim attempted to regain her vehicle at the time of the theft, one of the occupants reportedly pointed a gun at her.

Detectives attempted to stop the SUV but the driver fled. With the assistance of a police helicopter, detectives followed the vehicle until both the driver and passenger bailed from the SUV. They were both apprehended.

The driver of the SUV is charged in Juvenile Court with vehicle theft, evading arrest, and vandalism (he kicked in a fence as he ran from police). The second teen is charged with joyriding and evading arrest.
