Run. Hide. Fight. — Responding to an active aggressor
We know that the active aggressor is a hard topic to think about, and understand it may bring up difficult feelings. Because your safety matters to us, we want every member of our campus community to be fully prepared.
UAA's University Police Department defines an active aggressor as anyone using a weapon, such as a gun, knife or other object, with the intent to harm or causing harm to members of the campus community.
At UAA and our community campuses, we follow the Run. Hide. Fight. model. Please take a few minutes to watch this short video: Surviving an Active Aggressor from the Ohio State University. The strategies outlined can make a difference in an emergency.
Remember, please call 911 and report if you observe concerning behavior or an immediate threat. Thank you for helping keep our campus communities safe, and please take care of yourselves and each other.
