MCGA Calls for Quick Action Following Farm Bill 2.0 Failure

The Agriculture Act of 2026 failed to pass out of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry yesterday. The bill, also commonly referred to as "Farm Bill 2.0", included many Michigan Corn Growers Association (MCGA) priorities, such as language that would allow for the year-round sale of fuels with 15% ethanol blends (E15).

In response, MCGA President John Delmotte issues the following statement:

"We are deeply disappointed by the Senate Ag committee's inability to move a Farm Bill out of committee. It appears that once again rural America is losing out to partisan politics. The stability of our farm economy is critical to rural America's success and the Farm Bill provides much needed certainty for farmers and their communities. We strongly urge Congress to move past partisan differences and do what is best for American agriculture by passing a Farm Bill that includes access to year-round E15."
