On 13 January, H.E. GUO Haiyan, new Ambassador of China to Kenya presented the Letter of Credence to H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya at State House, Nairobi. H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya, Lieutenant General David Tarus, Commander of Kenya Army, and Dr. Korir Sing'Oei, Principal Secretary of State Department for Foreign Affairs attended the ceremony.
Ambassador Guo conveyed to President Ruto the warm greetings and best wishes of President Xi Jinping. Noting that President Xi has met twice with President Ruto and reached important consensus on carrying forward the China-Kenya comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, Guo said that China stood ready to work with Kenya to implement the consensus of the two leaders and the outcomes of the 2024 FOCAC Beijing Summit, deepen our friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and build an even closer China-Kenya community with a shared future.
President Ruto asked Ambassador Guo to convey his greetings to President Xi Jinping and expressed welcome to the Ambassador on assuming her new post. President Ruto praised China as an important cooperation partner of Kenya, and assured that Kenya would continue working together with China under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to accelerate economic growth and mutual benefit for the two nations.
On 6 January, Ambassador Guo arrived in Nairobi to assume the post as the new Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Kenya.
