Maxwell Road Bridge Open to Traffic

The Peoria County Highway Department has reopened the bridge on Maxwell Road, just south of Route 116, to traffic.

The $4.6 million dollar rehabilitation of the bridge and reconstruction of the roadway from IL Route 116 (Plank Road) to Fauber Road was the first stage of the reconstruction of Maxwell Road. Stage II will start in the spring of 2025 and will reconstruct Maxwell Road from Fauber Road to Middle Road. The project also includes reconstruction of Middle Road from Maxwell Road to Dirksen Parkway. The reconstruction includes constructing new watermain, storm sewer, curb and gutter, pavement, sidewalk, and multi-use path.
