The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Service Road 707 (Whitney Ave) in Hamden and North Haven. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, August 16, 2026, and be completed on Friday, October 9, 2026. The project DOT01730557CN "C" consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.23-mile segment of Service Road 707 (Whitney Ave) in Hamden and North Haven from the New Haven town line to 0.01 miles north of Millbrook RD in Hamden. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Tilcon on Sunday, August 16, to Tuesday, September 1, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, September 1, to Friday, October 9, 2026.
This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Service Road 707 (Whitney Ave) from the New Haven town line to Route 15. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday Night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
