DGA Statement on Maryland GOP Primary Results
DGA Executive Director Meghan Meehan-Draper released the following statement in response to Dan Cox becoming the Republican nominee for governor in Maryland:
"Dan Cox is a Donald Trump clone whose dangerous, extreme views belong nowhere near Government House. Cox's extremism cannot be overstated: he literally arranged buses so insurrectionists could attack the Capitol on January 6 and continues to spread dangerous lies about the 2020 election. As Governor, Cox would be the Trump of Maryland: taking away health care, jacking up costs, killing Maryland jobs, banning abortion, trafficking in conspiracy theories, attacking democracy, and endangering public safety. At a time when Donald Trump is attacking the state every day, Marylanders need a governor who will fight for them - not a MAGA conspiracy theorist. The DGA helped Gov. Moore defeat Cox once before, and we can't wait to do it again."
