Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Commack, NY07/30/2026

Author Jen Calonita to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening at 10AM on Wednesday, August 5^th, 2026

Commack, NY - July 29^th, 2026 -Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its new Commack, NY bookstore on Wednesday, August 5^th.

The new Barnes & Noble will offer more than 10,000 square feet of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items, and more. The Commack store is located in Veterans Memorial Plaza (58 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Commack, NY 11725), in the former Party City space, near Michaels. The new store is just 2 miles from the Jericho Turnpike Barnes & Noble that closed in 2024 when its lease ended.

Barnes & Noble Commack will officially open to the public at 10AM eastern on Wednesday the 5^th, with local author Jen Calonita cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her acclaimed book, Isle of Ever. Author Sarah Beth Durst will also be on hand to sign copies of her newest book Sea of Charms. Joining the celebration will be the beloved costume character Biscuit the Dog, who will host special storytime events throughout the opening weekend.

The new store is one of two Barnes & Noble locations to open on August 5^th, joining another in Livingston, NJ. The design of the Commack store showcases the ambition of Barnes & Noble to create exceptional local bookstores that marry the best traditions of independent bookselling with the resources of the historic chain. Barnes & Noble has opened 10 stores in New York over the last three years, with four more anticipated later this year.

Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made between August 5^th and 9^th at the Commack location. Customers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.

Everyone who visits the new Commack Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to exclusive deals, such as $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.
