On the International Forum on Emergency Medicine
On December 12, 2025, the International Emergency Medical Forum 2025 was held in Beijing. The event was organized by the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People's Republic of China with the aim of developing international cooperation in the field of emergency medicine, promoting innovation and technology in management, and enhancing operational emergency response capabilities.
Sohail Khan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He emphasized that emergency medicine is becoming a key element of national and regional security today. The challenges faced by SCO member states-natural disasters, industrial accidents, epidemiological threats-are taking on a cross-border nature and require consolidated efforts.
It was highlighted that the development of cooperation in the field of emergency medical care is part of the overall work to strengthen security within the SCO space. Promoting joint initiatives, exchanging best practices, and training relevant specialists will contribute to enhancing the resilience of the region's states to emergencies.
