Eligible faculty, administrative professionals, and academic student employees across the Washington State University system will see increases to their salary effective Oct. 1.
Faculty are eligible for two separate processes for merit-based salary increases this fall. The first is an up-to 1.4% salary increase subject to the process outlined in the Faculty Manual, with the following exemptions:
Earlier this year, the university also launched the President's Excellence Fund, which will provide annual salary adjustments for faculty who've made significant contributions to the university, their academic department, and their professional field.
The implementation process, which is outlined on Human Resource Service's website, is already underway, with salary adjustments being applied in early October with an Oct. 1 effective date.
All eligible administrative professionals at WSU will receive a 1.4% salary increase effective Oct. 1. Administrative professional retirees on a retire-rehire appointment will also receive the increase. Those working less than .5 FTE, making more than $250,000 in pro-rated base salary, hired after Dec. 31, 2024, or athletic coaches are not eligible to receive the salary increase.
Academic Student Employees covered by the WSU/UAW 2024-2026 collective bargaining agreement will receive a 3% salary and hour rate increase as of Oct. 1. More information on the salary increase process is available on HRS' website.
Civil service employees at WSU received a 3% salary increase earlier this summer, funded by the Washington State Legislature.
