Celebrate Voting Through Art: Enter Humboldt County’s “I Voted” Sticker Contest

The Humboldt County Office of Elections is excited to invite local artists to submit designs for new "I Voted" stickers. Winning designs will be distributed to voters during the upcoming primary and general elections.

Humboldt County's "I Voted" Sticker Contest invites artists to create designs that celebrate voting and reflect the county's unique identity. Artists are encouraged to include elements that represent Humboldt's distinctive natural environment while highlighting the importance of civic participation.

Participants can submit their art into one of two categories: youth or adult. Five finalists will be selected from each category and the community will be invited to vote for their favorite designs.

The top-voted design from each category will be produced into a sticker to be included in the county's vote-by-mail ballots through 2027.

Submission Deadline and Contest Details

The Humboldt County "I Voted" Sticker Contest is open to all Humboldt County residents. Participants under 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enter.

Submissions will be accepted Wednesday, April 23 through Tuesday, June 3.

The contest theme is "Vote Humboldt." Designs should celebrate voting and civic engagement and showcase Humboldt's unique regional identity. All entries must include the phrase "I Voted." Submissions in multiple languages are welcome and encouraged.

Artists are advised to consider including elements of Humboldt's natural environment into their designs. Examples include local wildlife and landscapes such as Roosevelt elk, salmon, banana slugs, Bigfoot, redwoods, rhododendrons, wildflowers, coastlines, mountains or rivers.

Digital submissions can be made at tinyurl.com/HumSticker2025. Digital artwork must be submitted as a high-resolution PDF, suitable for a two-inch circular sticker. Submissions will also be accepted in person or by mail to the Humboldt County Elections Office, 2426 Sixth St., Eureka, CA 95501.

Once the initial submissions are reviewed, finalists will be announced. Members of the public will then have the opportunity to vote for their favorite submissions between Friday, July 4 and Friday, Aug. 1. Winners will be contacted and announced in mid-August.

Prizes

The winning designs in each category will be featured on official "I Voted" stickers for upcoming elections through 2027. The adult winner will receive a $250 cash prize and the youth winner will receive a $50 gift card to Jersey Scoops and Eureka Books.

Interested artists can find full submission guidelines and entry forms on the Humboldt County Elections Office website at humboldtgov.org/elections or by visiting the Elections Office in person.
