Seasonal Watering Restrictions Begin May 1

Seasonal water conservation requirements will go into effect May 1 and run through October 31. The City of Santa Fe is encouraging residents and businesses to begin following these measures voluntarily now to help reduce water use and improve efficiency during the outdoor watering season.

Outdoor watering will be prohibited between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. beginning May 1.

Key requirements include:

• No outdoor watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., May 1 through October 31

• Limits on vehicle washing to once per month with automatic shut-off nozzles

• Prohibition on using hoses or power washers to clean hard surfaces

• Requirements for covered pools, efficient irrigation systems, and reduced turf water use

• Water conservation practices required for businesses, lodging facilities, and restaurants

These measures help reduce evaporation, improve efficiency, and protect Santa Fe's water resources during peak demand months.
