Massport to Launch First-of-Its-Kind Remote Terminal on June 1

Boston Logan passengers coming from the MetroWest region now have the opportunity to skip airport lines and head straight to their gate through the Massachusetts Port Authority's (Massport's) new Logan Airport Remote Terminal at Framingham pilot program. This first-of-its-kind pilot allows travelers to go through TSA security in Framingham, board a dedicated secure bus, and arrive at Boston Logan beyond the security checkpoint-streamlining their airport experience from start to finish for just $9 each way. Reservations are now open on Massport's website.

During this pilot, only passengers flying on Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. will be able to use this service, though there are plans to expand access to additional airlines in the future. Tickets can be booked from 90 days to 90 minutes before departure. As this is a pilot with limited seating, we encourage passengers to book early and allow for some flexibility as the program gets underway.

"The Remote Terminal pilot program is part of Massport's broader vision to reimagine the travel experience and make the passenger journey more seamless, connected, and efficient," said Rich Davey, Massport CEO. "Passengers in and around Metro West now have a new, low-stress way to reach Boston Logan. Imagine arriving at the airport having already checked in and cleared security and then being dropped off just steps from your gate. This is the kind of stress-free process we're working to make a reality for everyone."

The Landline Company, a third-party contractor, is partnering with Massport to help manage this program. Landline runs a similar bus service between airports in Pennsylvania and Illinois, but this will be the first program in the nation to offer service from a remote terminal directly to an airport.

1. The dedicated page on the Massport website: Logan Airport Remote Terminal
2. Select "Purchase Tickets."
3. Select your airline.
4. Choose the number of tickets needed for travel from Framingham to Boston Logan based on your party size.
5. Enter your flight information.

Each recommended bus is scheduled to arrive at the airport at least 45 minutes before your flight departs.

"Delta is built for Boston, and we're always looking for ways to make the travel experience better for our New England customers," said Charlie Schewe, Director of Sales - East, Delta Air Lines. "This forward-thinking program is exactly the kind of innovation we want to be part of - elevating the journey and getting people to their destination seamlessly. We're excited to work alongside Massport to bring this to life."

The Remote Terminal pilot program builds on the success of LEX, offering a high-occupancy option that delivers travelers right to the terminal curb. In 2025, the LEX system carried over 2.7 million passengers, with the Framingham location serving the busiest in the network. With five locations-Framingham, Woburn, Braintree, Danvers, and Boston's Back Bay-the LEX network offers service to every terminal at Boston Logan, making travel faster, easier, and more convenient.

"JetBlue has always focused on creating a seamless experience for our customers, from the first moment of planning a trip, to after they reach their destination," said Daniel Blake, Vice President Airport Experience, JetBlue. "As Massport pilots this first-in-the-nation approach to remote check-in and security screening for customers in the region, we're excited to try new ways to enhance our customers' journey by thinking outside the box and collaborating with our airport partners."

Massport is committed to sustainability, with investments in clean energy and sustainable transportation across the authority. This Remote Terminal pilot program is part of a larger high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) strategy that aims to give passengers more options to get to Boston Logan and reduce the number of cars on airport roadways. Between the five LEX locations, the MBTA Blue Line and Silver Line, MBTA bus service, and private bus service across the region, passengers have many different ways to get to Boston Logan without driving.
In 2025, about 22% of Boston Logan passengers traveled via HOV modes, including LEX, the MBTA's Blue Line and Silver Line, and private bus services. Massport aims to boost this number through ongoing efforts to expand and improve HOV options, including:
• Passengers can purchase LEX e-tickets in advance through the Massport website and the FlyLogan app for a reduced price of $9 each way. The Back Bay service fare is only $3 to the airport and free departing from Boston Logan;
• The MBTA Silver Line 1 (SL1) served more than 1.5 million Logan passengers in 2024;
• Both the Back Bay Logan Express and MBTA Silver Line SL1 services from Boston Logan to the city are FREE. Massport provided approximately 1 million free rides from the airport in 2024; and
• In 2024, over 2.2 million riders boarded the MBTA Blue Line at Airport Station. Massport has added real-time shuttle bus tracking for Blue Line passengers, and began a new shuttle route from Airport Station.
