The main point of Secretary of State Marcin Bosacki's visit was to inaugurate Poland-Argentina Economic Forum, an event attended by 20 Polish companies and institutions, co-organised by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency. In Buenos Aires, the deputy head of Polish diplomacy spoke with representatives of the Argentine government and parliament about security as well as political and economic cooperation.

"Faced with global challenges, Poland and Argentina can and should enhance their economic cooperation. Our economies have displayed impressive resilience (...).This year, Poland's nominal GDP will reach USD 1 trillion, with our economy ranking as the 20th largest in the world and the first in Central and Eastern Europe," said the deputy head of Polish diplomacy. He added that this brings a natural synergy: Poland and Argentina are regional economic leaders who complement each other's strengths and share common values.

The Polish MFA secretary of state also opened a seminar on the Polish economic success and exchange of experiences in economic transformation. It was attended by representatives of the Argentine government, media, and academia. During the event, experts from Poland shared their experiences in the areas of digital transformation of the Polish public administration, public finance, and the successful closing of tax gaps.

When talking with Argentina's deputy ministers of foreign affairs, national security, and economy, Deputy Minister Bosacki addressed the subject of cooperation in security (cybersecurity included) and economy, including within the OECD and G20, as well as Polish companies' plans to invest in Argentina. Also discussed were prospects for peace talks after Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine. The deputy head of Polish diplomacy also spoke with Federico Pinedo, Argentina's sherpa to the G20, about our cooperation within the group.

At the Argentine Congress, Deputy Minister Bosacki met with the heads of the Foreign Affairs and the Defence Committees to discuss strengthening political and economic cooperation between the two countries, including in green hydrogen investments, as well as the need to ratify the extradition agreement.

He also held talks with the President of the Argentine Journalism Forum and ambassadors of the EU, Germany, Finland, Ukraine, the Netherlands, and Norway about the recent disinformation campaigns orchestrated by Russia and possible cooperation with Argentina to counteract disinformation.

The deputy minister also met with the Argentine Jewish diaspora. They discussed the situation of the Jewish community in Poland and the role the latter plays in preserving the memory of the Shoah victims. He also had the opportunity to speak with the Polish community in Argentina. Programmes for Polish communities abroad, put forward by Poland's foreign ministry and Senate, help support the generations-long efforts of Poles in Argentina.

"Poland wants to be strong with the strength of its diaspora: a wealthy, influential, and integrated community which still cherishes its roots and lobbies for its original Homeland." Poland's deputy head of diplomacy thanked the Argentine Polish community for its activity to preserve the Polish identity and for its openness to cooperation. "Your accomplishments serve very vell both the Polish diaspora in Argentina and the broader promotion of Polish interests. I hope that we will continue to act together to build an even stronger, more visible Polish presence in this country," said Deputy Minister Bosacki.

To conclude the visit, the deputy foreign minister laid flowers at the General Jose de San Martin Memorial on behalf of the Polish authorities.
