NGS to Begin Operating Under New Name

National Government Services (NGS) is one of the seven Part B Medicare Administrative Contractors in the US. NGS will begin operating under a new name on April 1: Wellpoint Federal. Wellpoint reports that this change should have no impact on claims processing or the timing of payments. For those that have been submitting claims to NGS, Wellpoint shares that payer IDs, electronic claim submission processes, and clearinghouse connections will not be changed. Wellpoint also states that no changes are expected to EFT enrollment, remittance formats, or 835 transaction standards. The announcement of this change states there should be no changes to PECOS enrollment, revalidation cycles, or reassignment of benefits and that providers do not need to re-enroll due to the name change.
