DWU music groups to perform in eastern South Dakota, Nebraska

DWU will sponsor a music tour of eastern South Dakota and Nebraska venues March 6-10 featuring the Highlanders and the Wesleyan Bells.

MITCHELL - The Ron and Sheilah Gates Department of Music at Dakota Wesleyan University will sponsor a tour of eastern South Dakota and Nebraska venues March 6-10. The Highlanders and Wesleyan Bells will visit Gregory, Sioux Falls, Alexandria and Salem, S.D., and Papillion, Neb. All performances are free and open to the public.

On Friday, March, the groups will perform at Gregory United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, March 7, the group will perform at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Papillion.

Monday, March 9, the groups will perform at 7 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls.

Two performances are scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, at 2 p.m. at Hanson Schools in Alexandria, and at 7 p.m. at Unite Church in Salem.

The Highlanders are under the director of Dr. Clinton Desmond, Department Chair and Director of Choral Activities. The Wesleyan Bells, the only collegiate bell choir in South Dakota, are directed by Assistant Professor of Music Erin Desmond.
