Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Energy of the Republic of Poland, Miłosz Motyka, and expressed his support for the decision of the new Polish Government to establish a separate Ministry of Energy.
Minister Ž. Vaičiūnas noted that Lithuania and Poland are close partners in the region, linked by close cooperation both bilaterally and at the regional, European, and NATO levels: "We are confident that this partnership will continue to grow stronger, especially through the implementation of joint strategic energy projects that contribute to the energy security of the entire region."
The new Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Poland was established by merging elements of the Ministry of the Climate and Environment and the Ministry of Industry into a single centralised body. Mr Motyka previously held the position of Deputy State Secretary at the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
