The Belvedere-Tiburon Landmarks Society is hosting a public reception on Thursday, January 30 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tiburon Town Hall (1505 Tiburon Boulevard, Tiburon) to discuss this month's art installation, Artist as Historian, featuring rare historical works from the archive.
For at least a century, artists have been drawn to Belvedere and Tiburon to capture the dramatic beauty of our bayside setting. This curated exhibit, with some works dating back over 100 years, offers a special opportunity to experience our community through the eyes of these exceptional artists. In doing so, these artists have captured the history of our communities in a fashion more expressive than words or photographs. Many of the works on display were created in the tradition of en plein air, capturing fleeting moments in time and revealing what drew these artists to our unique locale. The exhibition can be viewed now through the end of February during the Town's open hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Thursday. Closed Fridays and weekends.
