Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong Attends the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Uganda

On January 6th, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Uganda convened its 2024 Annual Meeting in Kampala. Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong attended the event and delivered a speech. The meeting was also attended by Wang Jianxun, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy, along with more than 100 representatives of chamber members.

Ambassador Zhang highly praised the chamber's achievements in 2024 and extended congratulations to the newly elected members of its 9th Council. He noted that over the past year, China-Uganda relations have progressed steadily, yielding fruitful results. The chamber has played a proactive role as a platform, undertaking extensive work in areas such as safety,  compliance, social responsibility, and coordination. These efforts have significantly contributed to deepening and strengthening China-Uganda cooperation.

Ambassador Zhang emphasized that in the year ahead, the chamber should continue to act as a vital bridge, guiding enterprises to enhance communication and collaboration, achieve resource complementarity, and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests. He called on Chinese enterprises to shoulder greater social responsibility, foster a positive corporate image, and accelerate the implementation of the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Uganda. These efforts, he noted, will collectively create an even brighter future for China-Uganda cooperation.
