LINCOLN, NEBRASKA - Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood announced he is taking applications for the spring internship program in his Washington, D.C. office.
"My office is now welcoming applications for our spring internship program in Washington, D.C.," Congressman Flood announced. "Participants will have the chance to immerse themselves in the work of our nation's capital and observe firsthand how public policy comes to life. If you have any interest in learning more about how our government works, I encourage you to apply today."
Interns will have the opportunity to work alongside each team with the office's full-time congressional staff. The internship curriculum leaves interns with an understanding of how a congressional office administers constituent services, produces communications, its operations, works on legislative affairs, and conducts committee work.
Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to attend congressional hearings, policy briefings, guest speaker events, exhibits, and networking opportunities on Capitol Hill.
The deadline to apply for the spring internship is November 28, 2025. Applicants will be notified of their selection by December 19, and the internship will run from January 26 through May 8. Graphic design and writing experience are valued. Examples may be submitted along with a resume.
Students and recent graduates with ties to Nebraska's first congressional district will receive first consideration. Full details about the internship program can be found here.
