Historic Preservation Grant Application Now Open

Fredericksburg, Texas - The City of Fredericksburg's Historic Preservation Grant application for the 2024-25 fiscal year is now available to Historic District landowners or owners of Historic Landmarks in the City.

The deadline to apply for funds is Monday, June 30. The application is available at City Hall or on the City's website at https://www.fbgtx.org/989/Preservation-Grant .

The City's Historic Preservation Ordinance requires that properties located in the Historic District, or which are designated as Historic Landmarks be preserved and not fall into disrepair. Homeowners with structures in need of exterior maintenance are eligible to apply for funding assistance.

The City Council has allocated $30,000 for all grants this year. After applications are received, a committee will review and grant recipients will be selected by Monday, July 28.

The funds are designed for owners in need of financial assistance and are offered as a reimbursement. Given the limited amount of funding, the grant is only open to owner-occupied structures with significant need.

Contact Shelby Collier, Senior Planner, at City Hall, or call her at (830) 990-2013 to discuss the scope of work and assistance needed.
