ARLINGTON, Va. - The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) today announced that six manufacturing companies and one associate member organization have joined the voice of the electroindustry, expanding NEMA's capabilities across electrical components and power solutions, energy storage systems, and solar infrastructure. These additions come on the heels of A Reliable Grid for an Electric Future, NEMA's updated load growth forecast, projecting that U.S. electric power demand will increase more than 55% by 2050 - underscoring the imperative for clear-eyed, assertive leadership from the electrical equipment manufacturers who build and sustain the grid's physical backbone.
From energy storage systems that stabilize the grid and back-up critical facilities, to the circuit protection components that safeguard electrical systems and the copper wire and cable that connects infrastructure, these new members deliver technologies essential to meeting American's surging power demand.
NEMA's new Manufacturing Members are:
"These members join NEMA as electricity demand growth continues to accelerate," said NEMA President and CEO Debra Phillips. "From energy storage and backup power systems for data centers to the electrical components that protect and distribute power safely and reliably, our newest members bring expertise directly aligned with the infrastructure challenges ahead. We look forward to collaborating with them to advance the standards and technologies that will power America's growth."
"Base is building the most reliable, affordable power in America," said Base Power Company COO Justin Lopas. "We're proud to join NEMA and work alongside the manufacturers shaping the future of America's electrical infrastructure."
"Joining NEMA marks an important step for Nehring Electrical Works - Mueller Industries' anchor investment in the electrical market - and reinforces our commitment to scaling our role in North America's electrical infrastructure," said Mueller Industries President, Electrical Division Hesham Alabbar. "As a manufacturer of high-quality copper and aluminum wire and cable solutions serving utilities, telecommunications, and electrical distribution, Nehring is well positioned to support the accelerating demand driven by electrification and grid modernization. And we look forward to working alongside NEMA toward a more resilient, future-ready electrical system."
"Joining the National Electrical Manufacturers Association reflects NOARK's commitment to advancing safe, reliable, and standards-driven electrical infrastructure," said NOARK Electric, USA & Canada GM Patrick Woodham. "As electrification and digitalization accelerate, industry collaboration is more important than ever. Through NEMA, we look forward to contributing our expertise in circuit protection and power distribution while working alongside peers to strengthen grid resilience, innovation, and long-term energy reliability across North America."
"Patriot Industries is excited to join NEMA and work with fellow manufacturing leaders to develop standards, serve as an advocate for our shared issues, and help build the future of the electroindustry," said Patriot Industries President, CEO and Co-Founder, Tom Click. "Since founding Patriot in 2010, my wife Sarah and I have worked to prove that making things in America is truly the mission, not simply an idea. Executing this mission has created the ultimate in supply chain speed and certainty through our three United States-based factories, which produce the full lines of conduit and ECNs in stainless steel, rigid steel, steel EMT, aluminum EMT, and rigid aluminum. We look forward to continuing growth at Patriot and helping to grow our industry."
"Storion is proud to join NEMA at a critical time for grid infrastructure," said Storion Energy CEO Sue Ozdemir. "As power demand accelerates, long-duration energy storage - particularly flow batteries - will be essential to reliability, and we look forward to collaborating with members to advance scalable, resilient solutions."
"Joining NEMA marks an important milestone for TSEA as we deepen our commitment to the U.S. market. We are proud to contribute our experience in energy infrastructure and collaborate with industry leaders advancing grid reliability and modernization," said TSEA CEO José Roberto Reynaldo. "Through NEMA, we look forward to supporting discussions that help electric utilities address growing system complexity with resilient, long-term solutions."
NEMA's new Associate Member is:
"The Solar Energy Industries Association is proud to represent the solar and storage manufacturers that are building the energy infrastructure here in the U.S.A. that will accelerate our country's progress towards a more affordable, reliable, and resilient electric grid. In 2017, the U.S. ranked 14th in the world for solar panel manufacturing capacity. Today, the U.S. has leapfrogged competitors and ranks 3rd," said Solar Energy Industries Association Senior Vice President of Supply Chain & Trade Stacy Ettinger. "With solar + storage now consistently leading all energy technologies in new capacity additions, we are proud to partner with NEMA to continue this vital work of growing the domestic solar and storage manufacturing industries."
