PR No. 180 High-Level Iranian Delegation Visit to NDMA Headquarters Islama

A high-level delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, accompanied Minister of State for Interior Mr. Talal Chaudhry, and H.E. Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, visited the National Emergencies Operations Centre (NEOC) at Headquarters NDMA, Islamabad.

Team NDMA comprehensively presented NEOC capability exposition, along with Pakistan's innovative transformation of Proactive Disasters Management response systems to reduce recurring disasters risks. Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik introduced various measures advanced by NDMA for regional integration and global DRR reset approach. The delegation was shown Pak NDMA's excellence standards achieved in recent times, and plans of securing next stage of Next Generation Technologies, to create greater authentic Disasters Early Warnings (DEW) and choreographed synergetic actions by responders and resource providers. Pak NDMA's structured coordination with national and security leadership, extension of regular guidance framework for area governments and innovative connectivity with global academia, humanitarian responders and support enablers was peculiarly elucidated.

Dividends of multi-tiered coordination and resilient disasters response readiness were well acknowledged. Strategic appraisal highlighted localized risk communication, anticipatory actions administration, additional national resource mobilization and international coordination for pre-coordinated assured foreign support for disasters relief logistics.

During the session, "Disaster Lens 2026" was demonstrated (for Pakistan and global community) and vigorous sequences of Comprehensive International Simulation Exercises (CISE), were shown to the delegates. The delegation applauded Pakistan NDMA's superior high end niche disasters management method and trusted capabilities. Very strong desire was initiated for continued collaboration between Pakistan and Iran in disaster management and emergency response.

During the interaction, Iran's Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni appreciated Pakistan NDMA's remarkable transformation in disaster risk management and emergency preparedness. He expressed Iran's keen interest in learning from Pakistan's experience, particularly in the areas of early warning systems, anticipatory disaster management, institutional coordination, and the application of advanced technologies for disaster risk reduction. He emphasized that enhanced cooperation and knowledge sharing between the two neighboring countries would contribute significantly to strengthening regional resilience against natural hazards and climate-induced disasters.

Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening institutional linkages and promoting cooperation to address emerging risks associated with climate change and complex disasters.
