Cary Services, Operations To Change September 1 in Observance of Labor Day

  • Cary Town Hall and most staffed facilities will be closed on Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day.
  • Curbside collection will be delayed by one day the week of September 1.
  • GoCary will operate on a fixed-route service Sunday schedule; Door-to-Door will operate Tier 1 services only.

Cary, NC - In observance of Labor Day, Cary will modify operations and services on Monday, September 1. Curbside garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection will be delayed by one day from September 1 to September 5, and the Citizens' Convenience Center will be closed on September 1. Citizens can view or print their collection schedule using Cary Collects or the curbside collection calendar.

Most staffed Cary facilities, including Town Hall, will close on Monday, September 1 in observance of Labor Day. Cary Community Centers, Cary Senior Center, the Cary Arts Center, Cary Action Sports, Stevens Nature Center, and Page-Walker Arts and History Center will be closed on Monday, September 1, and resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, September 2. On Labor Day, several facilities remain open, including Downtown Cary Park Guest Services, The Bark Bar, and Market 317, which will operate at regular hours. Bond Park Boathouse will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Cary Tennis Park clubhouse and outdoor tennis courts will be operating at normal business hours.

GoCary will operate on a fixed-route Sunday schedule, with Tier I Door-to-Door service only on September 1.

Cary citizens firing up the grill or deep fryer at home this weekend are reminded to do so safely by taking advantage of the residential waste cooking oil curbside recycling program. Simply place up to a half gallon of cooled, used cooking oil and grease in a plastic screw-top food container, label the container "Used Cooking Oil," and call 311 or visit carync.gov/311 to schedule a free curbside pickup.
