JEFFERSON CITY , M o - Washington County Route W, southeast of Bourbon, is set to close next week to replace the deck (driving surface) of the Ashely Branch Bridge.
Crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will close the bridge to all traffic beginning June 1, and it will remain closed around-the-clock through the end of July. During the closure, motorists will need to use alternate routes.
Built in 1963, the supporting structures are in good condition , but the driving surface is nearing the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement . The new driv ing surface will be 2 4 feet wide, t he same as the current structure .
