Whether you're looking for Halloween fun with the family or a hauntingly good night out, there's something for everyone!
Sticker Treat 2026
October 16-18 | Gadsby's Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal Street
Join Gadsby's Tavern Museum and more than 20 local businesses for Sticker Treat, presented by Penny Post. Pick up a reusable sticker book and treat map, then visit participating businesses to collect stickers along the way!

Death at the City Hotel: The Fear that Unites Us
October 16 | 7-9 p.m. | Gadsby's Tavern Museum, 134 N. Royal Street
Explore the mysteries surrounding Alexandria's legendary "Female Stranger" during an intriguing evening of history, healing traditions, protective charms and our shared fear of death. Poe in Alexandria
October 29-30 | 8-9:15 p.m. | The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington Street
Celebrate the spooky season with America's master of the macabre! Actor David Keltz returns as Edgar Allan Poe for an unforgettable performance featuring stories, poems and musings inspired by Poe's visit to Virginia in 1849. Tickets are $25 per person or $20 for Historic Alexandria members and volunteers. Reservations are strongly recommended.
