The City of Cedar Rapids is hosting its Community Water Academy starting April 28. Residents are invited to join the City in a five-part series designed to educate and empower the community with essential knowledge and skills related to water resources and conservation in the Cedar Rapids area. Through staff-led programming and tours, participants will gain an understanding of water management, sustainability, and the roles everyone plays in preserving water as a vital resource.

The Community Water Academy is free for participants, but spots are limited. The dates for the academy are:

  • Tuesday, April 28, 4-6:30 PM
  • Tuesday, May 5, 4-6:30 PM
  • Tuesday, May 12, 4-6:30 PM
  • Tuesday, May 19, 4-6:30 PM
  • Tuesday, May 26, 4-6:30 PM

The Community Water Academy takes a "One Water" approach, meaning that all forms of water and water management are equally important. This includes drinking water, stormwater, wastewater, source water, industrial water, watersheds, and all water quality efforts. The Community Water Academy will explore all aspects of water in the community.
