Litigator of the Week Runners-Up and Shout-Outs

Kim Bueno, Chris Cowan, Amy Pepke and Tara Blake were recognized as runners-up for The American Lawyer Litigation Daily's "Litigator of the Week" for their work for Johnson & Johnson.

"... In South Carolina, a Kirkland & Ellis trial team led by Kim Bueno and Chris Cowan won a defense verdict for J&J in a talc case brought on behalf of Gregory Johnson, who claimed asbestos in the company's baby powder caused him to develop peritoneal mesothelioma. Last week, after a two-week trial, jurors in the Richland County Court of Common Pleas sided with the company, finding J&J was not negligent, was not the proximate cause of plaintiff's injuries and that the company was not liable for selling a defective product. The Kirkland team included Amy Pepke and Tara Blake."
