Thank you, Louisiana! Today, we wrapped up our ATU International Stewards training with Locals from the South, including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas, who came to do the important work of learning to represent our members. International President John Costa closed out the training by reminding our Stewards how essential they are.
"Union stewards are the unsung heroes who stand at the frontlines of justice in the workplace,' said Costa. "You are the protectors of rights, the voice of the workers, and the bridge between employees and leadership. Because of your commitment and vigilance, our members have power. From understanding our contracts to learning how to represent our fellow members, this training has been invaluable in strengthening our union. We're more equipped than ever to stand up for each other, defend our rights, and ensure fair treatment in the workplace."
A big thank you to everyone who participated, and a special shoutout to our trainers and leaders for sharing their expertise and passion for the cause!
Costa was joined by International Executive Vice President Yvette Trujillo and IVPs Gary Johnson, Curtis Howard, Anthony Garland, and Amanda Sawyer-Turner.
Together, we're building a stronger, more united ATU! Let's keep pushing forward.
