The Sparks City Attorney's Office announces the following Driving Under the Influence convictions for the first half of the month of May. The following sentencing conditions are imposed by the Sparks Municipal Court in accordance with statutory sentencing guidelines:
On May 14, 2026, Jose Gonzales Zamora, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 30 days in Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: 2 active days of jail, $400 fine plus administrative assessments fees, 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, attend the victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the Ignition Interlock Device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on December 4, 2025, in the vicinity of Victorian Ave.
On May 7, 2026, Jose Hernandez-Garcia, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 180 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended on the condition he enter and complete Alcohol and Other Drug court, complete 52 weeks of substance abuse counseling complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $900 fine plus administrative assessments, attend the victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, install the SCRAM device for 90 days, obey all laws, and install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on October 29, 2025, in the vicinity of Wedekind Rd.
On May 7, 2026, Rachel Garcia Apolinar was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 60 days in Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: 2 active days of jail, $500 fine plus administrative assessments fees, 26 weeks of substance abuse counseling, attend the victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the Ignition Interlock device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on December 13, 2025, in the vicinity of Commerce St.
On May 7, 2026, Dewenton Jackson, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 30 days Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: complete 48 hours of community service, pay $700 fine plus administrative assessment fees, complete 12 hours of substance abuse counseling, attend the victim impact panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on December 28, 2025, in the vicinity of Prater Way.
On May 7, 2026, Mikel Murillo, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 30 days Washoe County Jail suspended on the following conditions: 48 hours of community service, pay $400 fine plus administrative assessments, DUI level I counseling, attend the Victim Impact Panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on December 31, 2025, in the vicinity of 4th Street.
On May 7, 2026, Steven Pagnossin, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 45 days of Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: complete 48 hours of community service, pay $400 fine plus administrative assessment fees, complete 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, attend the victim impact panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on February 19, 2025, in the vicinity of E. Prater Way.
On May 7, 2026, Sergio Zecena-Valdez was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 45 days of Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: complete 48 hours of community service, pay $400 fine plus administrative assessment fees, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow the recommendations, attend the victim impact panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on February 22, 2026, in the vicinity of Nichols Blvd.
On May 7, 2026, Amy Authur, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 45 days of Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: complete 48 hours of community service, pay $500 fine plus administrative assessment fees, complete 8 hours of substance abuse counseling, attend the victim impact panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on February 24, 2026, in the vicinity of Sparks and Baring Blvd.
On May 7, 2026, Jonathan Larreto De La Cruz, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 90 days of Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: complete 80 hours of community service, pay $400 fine plus administrative assessment fees, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow the recommendations, attend the victim impact panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 1, 2026, in the vicinity of Pyramid Way and E St.
On May 7, 2026, Victor Marin-Garcia, was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 30 days of Washoe County jail suspended on the following conditions: complete 48 hours of community service, pay $400 fine plus administrative assessment fees, obtain a substance abuse evaluation and follow the recommendations, attend the victim impact panel, install the vehicle ignition interlock device for 185 days, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and obey all laws. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on February 28, 2025, in the vicinity of G Street.
On May 6, 2026, Alisha Wilder was found guilty on the charge of Driving under the Influence, first offense and sentenced to 30 days in the Washoe County Jail suspended on the condition they complete 48 hours of community service, pay a $500 fine plus administrative assessments; complete 13 weeks of substance abuse counseling, attend the Victim impact panel, abstain from all drugs and alcohol, obey all laws, and install the Ignition Interlock Device for 185 days. This conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred on December 20, 2025, in the vicinity of Vista and Baring Blvd.
City Attorney Duncan emphasized, "Our office is committed to prosecuting DUI offenses that happen within Sparks. Drinking and driving puts everyone in our community at risk, and we will continue to be vigilant in holding offenders accountable."
