    CAMBRIDGE ST
    Police responded to a report of a crash on the 1400 block of Cambridge St. The reporting party, a passerby, claims they saw the operator behind the wheel, with the vehicle running after colliding into a light pole. As a result of the investigation, officers placed Allyssa Metzger, of Philadelphia, 39, under arrest for OUI-Liquor, and Alcohol from Open Container.

    Police took a theft report on the 0 block of Churchill Ave. The reporting party claims an acquaintance of theirs was invited into their apartment. When the acquaintance left, the reporting party noticed several coins and a diamond cross pendant valued at $6040 were missing.

    Police took a report of a past larceny on the 700 block of Memorial Dr. The reporting party claims an individual had purchased a graphics card valued at $835. The individual returned the same product still wrapped in plastic, however upon inspection of the product, it was discovered that the graphics card had been removed and replaced with a different package.

    ALEWIFE BROOK PKWY
    Police responded to a shoplifting on the 200 block of Alewife Brook PKWY. The reporting party claims a group of three suspects attempted to buy items using an EBT card. They were informed that they could not use that type of card for payments at the store. One of the suspects then grabbed $10 in merchandise and left the store without attempting to pay for the item and fled the scene. A report was taken.

    Police pulled over a motor vehicle for making an improper turn at the intersection of Appleton St & Brattle St. The operator of the motor vehicle was discovered to not have a license. The operator was issued a citation for related charges and a licensed driver was allowed to take custody of the vehicle.

    Officers at the intersection of Green St & Magazine St arrested Krystal Jalbert, 40, of Cambridge who was confirmed to have seven active warrants. During the arrest Jalbert kicked one of the responding officers in the leg and will face an additional charge of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

    Police responded to a report of a past hit and run on the 0 block of Essex St. The reporting party claims they had parked their vehicle in front of their residence in a street parking space. When they had returned they noticed new damage to their vehicle. A neighbor claims they witnessed the hit and run and identified the suspect vehicle's license plate. A report was taken.

    Police responded to a report of a shoplifting in progress at the intersection of Massachusetts Ave & Prospect St. The reporting party claims an individual fled the store with three packages of paper towels valued at $73 that they did not pay for. Officers were able to locate the suspect, identified as Jorge Acuna, 31, unhoused. Acuna was subsequently arrested and will be charged with Shoplifting by Asportation, 2nd Offense.

    Officers conducted a traffic stop on the 100 block of Rindge Ave. It was confirmed that the vehicle registration was revoked for lack of insurance. The vehicle was towed and the owner, a Cambridge resident, will be summonsed to Cambridge District Court for uninsured motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle.

    Police responded to a report from MIT Police of a suspicious device on a bench on the 0 block of Vassar St. An investigation was conducted that concluded the device is likely a home made weather station. MIT police took custody of the device.
