Council Meeting Livestream - Important Viewer Information

Council Meeting Livestream - Important Viewer Information

Published on 11 February 2026

In accordance with the Model Code of Meeting Practice, each meeting of the council or a committee of the council is to be recorded by means of an audio-visual device. Oberon Council utilise a Meeting Owl conference camera and Microsoft Teams Town Hall to livestream Council Meetings and allow community members to observe meetings online.

We are currently aware of a technical issue affecting some viewers who attempt to open the livestream link in the Microsoft Teams app. In these cases, the livestream may be blocked.

Viewing via a web browser is not affected and remains the recommended way to watch Council meeting livestreams.

How to access the livestream successfully

To ensure you can view the meeting:

  • Open the published livestream link in a web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox)
  • If prompted, select "Continue in this browser"
  • Do not open the link in the Microsoft Teams app

You do not need a Microsoft Teams account or login to watch the livestream in your browser.

Council thanks viewers for their patience. Please don't hesitate to contact [email protected] if you continue to experience any issues.
