The 2026 Zambia Chinese Spring Festival Temple Fair was successfully held on February 8 in Lusaka, co-hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Zambia and the Ministry of Tourism of Zambia. Zambian Vice President, Hon. Mutale Nalumango, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy, Mr. Wang Sheng, overseas Chinese community leaders, representatives of Chinese enterprises and diplomats from other countries joined nearly 1,000 attendees to celebrate the approaching Chinese New Year.
Mr. Wang Sheng extended New Year greetings, highlighting strengthened high-level ties, deepened political trust, and growing practical cooperation between China and Zambia. He emphasized China's readiness to share development opportunities with Zambia and noted that the event kicked off a series of activities under the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.
Hon. Mutale Nalumango conveyed greetings from President Hichilema to President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people. She praised the event as a platform for cultural mutual learning and expressed optimism for continued strong momentum in bilateral cooperation during the Year of the Horse.
The event featured a cultural performance by Chinese and Zambian artists, a food exhibition and a business exhibition, creating a lively atmosphere.
