As the recreational boating industry recognizes National Safe Boating Week, manufacturers, dealers and industry stakeholders have an opportunity to reinforce safe boating practices ahead of the busy summer season. From life jacket awareness to pre-departure preparation, the annual campaign serves as a reminder that safety education plays a key role in creating positive on-water experiences for boaters of all experience levels.
For NMMA members, National Safe Boating Week also provides an opportunity to highlight the standards and practices built into today's recreational boats through the NMMA Certification program. NMMA Certified boats, yachts, trailers and marine components are independently inspected to help ensure compliance with established industry standards and federal regulations, supporting safety, reliability and quality across the boating experience. The program helps provide consumers with added confidence as they enter the marketplace and reinforces the industry's longstanding commitment to safe boating.
As members engage consumers throughout National Safe Boating Week and the broader summer boating season, incorporating safety-focused messaging into marketing, retail and digital communications can help strengthen awareness and encourage responsible boating behaviors.
Additional National Safe Boating Week resources, including shareable consumer safety content and educational materials, are available through Discover Boating and the National Safe Boating Council.
