Nighttime detours on I-84 near Heyburn begin Monday

HEYBURN - Nighttime closures on Interstate 84 near Heyburn (Exit 211) will be in place from Monday, March 9, through Friday, March 20, as crews continue building a new access bridge over the freeway. Traffic will be routed through the existing on- and off-ramps at Exit 211each night from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. There will be no closures during the day.

Drivers should look for construction crews, slow down, and obey all posted signage.

Construction has been underway since 2024 to update the Heyburn and Burley interchanges to meet growing traffic demands and is anticipated to be completed in 2026.

The project is funded as part of Gov. Little's Leading Idaho transportation initiative. The Leading Idaho initiative, which allows ITD to take a deliberate approach to advance large projects that will enhance safety, improve mobility, further strengthen Idaho's economy, and positively impact the Magic Valley and communities across the state for years to come.
