On the evening of February 16, Chinese New Year's Eve, Chinese Consulate in Mumbai and Fairmont Hotel jointly hosted the "Chinese Food and Culture Experience" event to celebrate the arrival of the Spring Festival. The event was attended by Consul General Qin Jie, hotel General Manager Kapoor, overseas Chinese in the consular district, representatives of Indian friends, and staff of the Consulate, totaling about 80 people.
Mr. Qin greeted the guests, mentioning that under the strategic guidance of the Chinese and Indian leaders, bilateral relations have continued to improve. In the Chinese culture, the horse symbolizes enterprise and progress. It is expected that the people of both countries would uphold the spirit of the galloping horse and continuously promote the steady and long-term development of bilateral relations. He wished all the guests a happy Spring Festival and good luck in the Year of the Horse, hoping that through this event, they would better experience the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.
The guests enthusiastically enjoyed Chinese cuisine, participated in activities such as making dumplings, paper-cutting, and calligraphy, and watched performances of lion dances, Peking Opera, and Liuqin music. The atmosphere was lively and warm, filled with a strong "Chinese flavor."
