WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) released the following statement after voting against the package of bills that included funding for the Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS):
"I voted no on this funding package because this administration should not get any more money to start new wars, fire federal employees and contractors without cause, and let Homeland Security agents violently harass and harm U.S. citizens. Without guardrails and accountability, we are handing them a blank check and diminishing our own power of the purse.
It is time for Republicans in Congress to start working with us to provide real oversight over the Trump administration."
