The City of Murfreesboro Community Development Department announces program accomplishments for its Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. For FY25, Community Development met all goals established in the 2024-25 Action Plan.
"The City of Murfreesboro partners with the federal government to fund a wide range of public service activities including childcare, healthcare, job training, homeless services and education programs," stated Community Development Director Robert Holtz. "We appreciate the qualified nonprofit agencies with 501(c)3 tax-exempt status and government agencies who partner with the City with these projects and activities."
The CAPER presents the City's progress in carrying out projects and activities according to the Program Year (PY) 2024 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds received from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds are awarded to principally benefit low-to-moderate-income individuals in the City. A total of 658 residents were assisted through public service grants, homeownership assistance, housing rehabilitation, and fair housing education with $708,428 expended in CDBG funds and $499,769 in HOME funds.
