Dairyland Produce, LLC, dba Hardie's Fresh Foods of Houston, TX and Dallas, TX are recalling PEPPER JALAPENO 5#, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
The affected jalapenos are in clear plastic bags with labels like the photo below.
Lot codes being recalled are: X2741775, X2741859, X2744163, X2744706, X2746349, X2746490, X2748743. Production dates are: 26192 (07/11/26), 26196 (07/15/26), 26197 (07/16/26), 26199 (07/18/26), and 26203 (07/22/26).
These jalapenos were repacked by Hardie's Fresh Foods. Hardies' Fresh Foods has ceased the production and distribution of the product.
