Biamp Introduces Workplace Control, a Unified AV Automation Platform

BEAVERTON, Ore., and LAS VEGAS, USA - Biamp, a leading provider of professional audiovisual solutions, today announced Workplace Control, a new intelligent AV automation platform that delivers a rare combination of simplicity, flexibility, and power in a single control solution. Built on the Biamp Workplace platform and running natively on TesiraFORTÉ X Series digital signal processing (DSP) hardware, Workplace Control empowers integrators and end users to create sophisticated, event-driven automation without complex programming.

"AV professionals have always been forced to choose between a control system that is easy to deploy or one that is truly powerful - Workplace Control ends that compromise," said Joe Andrulis, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, Biamp. "This platform combines the simplicity and value of Biamp Canvas with the intuitive interfaces and broad device support of Biamp Impera and adds powerful automation features like Lua scripting - without the complexity. Now our channel partners can design, deploy, and scale intelligent environments ranging from a single huddle room to an entire enterprise buildout, without sacrificing performance or ease of use."

Workplace Control is built on three core pillars - simple, flexible, and powerful - and scales accordingly across the full range of deployment scenarios. Integrators can easily discover Biamp devices, drag and drop them into a design with simple panel layouts, and generate a complete control configuration in minutes - ready for rapid deployment. For more versatility, Workplace Control offers an intuitive no-code design workflow familiar to anyone who has worked in the Tesira Flow Layout, transforming AV systems into intelligent, automated environments. Deployments requiring more flexibility can leverage the platform's broad ecosystem compatibility, including the ability to import existing Biamp Impera drivers or create new drivers for third-party devices. For the most demanding projects, the platform supports custom Lua scripting, advanced logic, and integration of complex third-party devices, ensuring it can deliver the unique experiences that challenging installations require.

Workplace Control includes a complete range of Apprimo Touch interfaces with 4, 7, 8, and 10-inch panels available for intuitive in-room control. The platform's responsive GUI engine adapts control interfaces across multiple device types and screen sizes, while enhanced cloud-based security enables secure remote access and system management.

A new Workplace app, Workplace Control Designer, provides an integrated design environment for user interface design, programming, and deployment. Biamp devices are automatically discovered through Workplace and their control elements are directly imported into the app. Workplace Control Designer offers easy panel layouts for simple designs, drag and drop functionality design that require more flexibility, and powerful scripting and custom programming functionality for premium applications. Control configurations of any scale can easily be saved to and accessed in the cloud.

Workplace Control is enabled through a Biamp Workplace Monitoring and Management Plus license, giving IT and AV teams a single platform for configuration, and performance analysis across every room in the building. Workplace Control extends the existing Monitoring and Management suite of functions, connecting system events to actions, enabling seamless control of Biamp and third-party devices-improving efficiency, reducing costs, and scaling easily from single rooms to enterprise-wide deployments.
