16 Ms Poh Li San asked the Minister for Digital Development and Information what are the considerations for the Government's recent open announcement of the cyberattacks by UNC3886.
Answer
The campaign by UNC3886 targeted our telecommunications sector. This is critical infrastructure, providing essential services to Singapore and Singaporeans.
While we do not publicly disclose all cyberattacks, it is important for the public to know that such threats are real. Singapore must be prepared to defend ourselves from sophisticated and persistent cyber threats, and build resilience against potential disruptions to our essential services.
The attacks remind us to stay vigilant, and invest adequately in cybersecurity. The Government and private sector must work together on this.
