Vogue World: Milano Takes Over the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in a Celebration of Fashion, Craftsmanship and Culture

Vogue World arrived in Milan on September 22, opening Milan Fashion Week with a celebration of Italian craftsmanship at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Livestreamed around the world, the fifth edition brought more than 360 models, performers and other talent together for a show spanning fashion, music, dance, opera and technology.

Across five acts, the show traced how the human hand has shaped fashion, from artisanal workshops and industrial production to screen culture and the age of artificial intelligence. Craftspeople from Italian fashion, accessories and jewellery houses took their place in the Galleria, putting the skills behind the finished looks in the spotlight.

The evening featured a 100-strong children's choir from the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, a performance by Roberto Bolle to music from La Traviata, and Alicia Keys performing "I Feel Love." The finale brought the show's past and future themes together through eight one-of-a-kind Memory Dresses, created for the occasion by Armani Privé, Bottega Veneta, Dolce&Gabbana, Fendi, Ferragamo, Gucci, Prada and Valentino. More than 6,000 paper origami pieces, designed by Jony Ive's LoveFrom studio, fell from the Galleria's ceiling as the show closed.

Vogue World: Milano will also leave a lasting contribution to the city. Vogue is investing at least €2 million in the redevelopment of the Quarto Oggiaro public library, with 100% of ticket proceeds contributing to a renewed space for culture, education and community connection.

The team behind the event included Anna Wintour and Vogue Italia's Head of Editorial Content Francesca Ragazzi, alongside creative director Juan Costa Paz, fashion director Lady Amanda Harlech, show curator Judith Clark and choreographer Charm La'Donna. The global livestream was directed by Becky Garner and produced by Si Fi Productions.
