Northwest Missouri State University's Student Activities Council (SAC) will welcome a hypnotist among a variety of late-night events and its traditional Northwest Week activities as part of its spring lineup.
SAC plans and administers activities for Northwest students to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational and cultural life for the campus and community. The organization provides entertaining alternatives to students with late-night activities and events throughout the year, including concerts, lectures, movies and comedians.
"Our events provide a place for students to feel welcome and at home," said Katelyn Briggs, a junior psychology major from Eagleville, who serves as SAC president. "We try to provide a variety of events to engage all our student populations, and I think that is one of the best things we can do for our University. The first time I attended a SAC event as a general body member, I not only had fun but I was able to meet new people and feel welcome."

SAC's spring lineup begins with "Vision Boards with SAC" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, in the J.W. Jones Student Union Tower View Room. Then, in February the organization also will accept its annual Flowergram orders Feb. 5-7 and host Late Night at the Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
Then, Evan Gambardella, a therapeutic hypnotist, highlights the spring schedule with a performance at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building. The event is free and open to the public.
March events include a craft night from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, in the Student Union Ballroom. Then, the spring tradition of Northwest Week returns March 24-28 with a T-shirt giveaway, a picnic at the Memorial Bell Tower, a "make-n-take" event and a murder mystery party.
SAC concludes its spring lineup by sponsoring Northwest's annual spring concert on Friday, April 4, and miniature golf in the B.D. Owens Library on Tuesday, April 8.
