On Sunday, 17 August 2025, Prime Minister Petr Fiala participated via videoconference in a meeting of the leaders of the so-called Coalition of the Willing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also joined the virtual meeting. The leaders discussed a joint approach ahead of Monday's meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump and European leaders at the White House.

"The videoconference of the Coalition of the Willing was important for coordination ahead of tomorrow's meeting at the White House. We agreed that the goal should be to stop the killing of people as soon as possible and that clear security guarantees to Ukraine from the United States and Europe will be absolutely crucial for further negotiations," Prime Minister Petr Fiala said after the meeting.
