Repairs scheduled for West Loop 289 exit bridge

LUBBOCK - Starting Monday, Dec. 15, morning, motorists traveling southbound West Loop 289 should anticipate the Slide Road exit bridge to be closed to traffic to allow crews to make concrete repairs.

The closure is scheduled to begin after the Monday morning rush hour and remain in place until work can be completed on Wednesday, said Joe Villalobos, P.E., TxDOT's Lubbock Area engineer.

"Marsha Sharp Freeway and West Loop frontage road traffic needing to connect with Slide Road can use the westbound Spur 331 frontage road and Frankford Avenue turn-around to connect with Slide," Villalobos said. "We anticipate the work to be completed, the concrete to cure and the bridge to reopen to traffic on Wednesday."

Drivers are advised to pay extra attention and slow down as they approach the work area for their safety.

The work will take place weather permitting.
