Ambassador Martin Selmayr participated to the Festival della Diplomazia in Rome, that this year was under the heading "The Cost of Principles". Ambassador Selmayr exchanged views with students from over 30 countries about the challenges of bilateral, multilateral and EU diplomacy in times of aggressive power competition.
After the interesting discussion with very motivated students, Ambassador Selmayr answered interesting questions from students about the potential of the EU's common foreign and security policy, about Russia's illegal and unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine, about the EU's enlargement process and about the relationship between values and interests in foreign policy.
