• Jan. 15, 2025ExxonMobil and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have launched Be WellTM Beaumont, focused on enhancing the health and well-being of residents in Beaumont, Texas.
This 10-year initiative aims to reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases through community events and engagements promoting health and wellness, supported by a $10 million grant from ExxonMobil.
ExxonMobil and MD Anderson initially joined forces in Baytown when they launched Be WellTM Baytown in 2016. Together, we distributed nearly 8 million pounds of healthy food, increased opportunities for people to be physically active and provided health resources to the community.
Inspired by these achievements, Be Well Beaumont will adopt a similar approach, delivering evidence-based strategies that promote the program's core pillars: healthy eating, active living, sun safety, tobacco-free living and preventive care.
"We're incredibly proud to launch Be Well Beaumont," said ExxonMobil Beaumont Complex Manager Phil Matherne. "It represents our commitment to fostering healthier communities and improving the quality of life for our residents. By working with MD Anderson and local organizations, we want to make a lasting, positive impact on the health and well-being of Beaumont."
