Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Committee Chairman Aleksandar Markovic Meets with Participants of Professional Internship Programme for Young People from South[...]

The Chairman of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality Aleksandar Markovic met with the participants of the Professional Internship Programme for Young People from South and Southwest Serbia on 25 April 2025 at the National Assembly.

The Internship Programme, conducted by the OSCE Mission to Serbia in cooperation with the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue, enables young professionals from Bujanovac, Medvedja, Novi Pazar, Nova Varos, Presevo, Priboj, Prijepolje, Raska, Sjenica and Tutin to gain professional experience in state institutions. The aim of the programme is to promote better understanding of the work of state institutions, inclusion and greater participation of young people from minority and less developed communities in the public administration of the Republic of Serbia.

The National Assembly and the Committee have been participating in the Programme since its very beginning in 2019, and providing the opportunity for young experts to gain professional experience by working in the Committee's service, with the support of a mentor.

The meeting was an opportunity for the Committee Chairman to introduce the Programme participants to the Committee's responsibilities and activities and to highlight the most important issues that the Committee has addressed in the current National Assembly legislature. The participants of the meeting exchanged information on the experiences gained through the Programme, as well as future goals and plans regarding their professional careers.
