Van Buren County Sheriff News Release -OWI Child endangerment arrest

Narrative:

Sheriff Daniel E. Abbott reports that on July 28th, 2025, Deputies were dispatched to the area of County Road 390 near 37 1/2 street in Bloomingdale Township for a reported one vehicle crash. The caller advised that a vehicle had crashed into the woods near their house and rolled over, and that there was an infant involved in the crash. Deputies arrived on scene and located the driver and the infant. After conducting an investigation, the driver was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was subsequently arrested for operating while intoxicated and Child endangerment. All parties were evaluated by EMS and no serious injuries were discovered. The driver was identified as a 25 year old Female from the Bloomingdale area. Deputies were assisted on scene by LIFE EMS, Michigan State Police, Mikes Towing and the Bloomingdale Fire Department.
