Penn State Altoona inducted 10 new members into the Theta Chi Chapter of the Tri-Alpha Honor Society during a ceremony on Thursday, April 3. Tri-Alpha recognizes the academic achievements of first-generation college students who must have 30 credits and a 3.2 GPA. It also promotes leadership and provides support networks.
ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona inducted 10 new members into the Theta Chi Chapter of the Tri-Alpha Honor Society during a ceremony on Thursday, April 3.
Tri-Alpha recognizes the academic achievements of first-generation college students who must have 30 credits and a 3.2 GPA. It also promotes leadership and provides support networks.
Six students and four faculty and staff members were inducted. They each received a pin and certificate, and students were given cords to wear at their graduation.
Tri-Alpha was founded in 2018 at Moravian College (now Moravian University) in Bethlehem, PA. The society now exists at colleges and universities in 39 states.
